Our Retail Space

As of December 2015, we now have a retail space inside of Inspirations Home Decor and More located at 8601 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina 27617. Here you will find our greeting card line as well as handmade bath items, hand-painted gifts and a carefully curated mix of home decor, furniture and gifts.

Located at 8601 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC 27617. They have 30+ boutique owners in over 12,000 square feet of new, antique and refurbished furniture, home decor, clothing and gifts.

Store hours are:

Monday - Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm
Sunday: 1 pm - 5 pm

Our Story

Once upon a time we were called Violets are Blue and we sold handmade soaps, floral arrangements and hand painted furniture at local street fairs and boutiques. Then for five years, we sold many assorted items at our shop in La Crescenta, California. More recently, we changed our name to Violet Cottage and have been selling our greeting cards online and now we're back into the brick and mortar retail world again after relocating to the Raleigh, North Carolina area.

About The Artist

A CalArts alumna with a degree in animation, Carrie Hannegan is a California native with a passion for painting, home decor and visual merchandising. A collector of vintage fabric, anything Alice in Wonderland and Pyrex bowls, she also gathers inspiration via her love of spontaneous road trips and countless trips to Disneyland. Carrie currently lives with her husband and Golden Retriever, Maple, in Cary, North Carolina.
