That's exactly what the squirrel looked like that accosted me. He saw me walking by, zooooomed over on the grass and then stopped abruptly at the curb and just demanded something...not sure what. Geez, I thought he was charging me and was going to attack. But then he seemed to get annoyed that I didn't get it, and with tail twitching annoyingly, he zoomed off again. Yes! Maybe it's these CA squirrels . . . feisty.
