This yard sale I’ve been talking about… I really did not want to do it on the very last weekend of March because of an event for my friend, but I think we may have to. So, that said… I think the yard sale will be the 29th and 30th of March. Small chance it will be pushed to the 1st weekend in April, but I’ll keep everyone posted via email. If you would like an email, please leave a comment :) I’m so behind on getting everything sorted and priced… I totally underestimated how much time this was going to take! eek!
Second… this was my distraction today…
I was busy pushing stuff around in the garage, listening to my ipod, and these two cuties showed up behind me… startling me a bit, too…
They showed up at about 4:00. I didn’t get any work done because I was obsessing on finding their people. As I made fliers, they literally knocked our fence over and flew the coop. I found them down the street at the neighbors, so I scooped up the little one and the lab followed. The little cocker loved to cuddle. She reminded me of my Mom’s dog, biscuit. They are both “satellite” dogs to their alpha counterpart. This little girl wouldn’t leave the lab’s side and she would “talk”. Little squeaking noises… and then she would respond to you when you talked to her. They knew “let’s go in the car” and were really good… I knew they had a family. At about 10:30, I had to eat dinner and leave their side. Now with a broken fence, it was easy for them to leave. I heard a bunch of noises so I dropped the pizza and ran out. Their people!!! I guess this wasn’t the first time shushu and JuJu have gotten out… and their 3rd partner in crime, teddy bear, was missing. So, if you see a little white and brown dog with a curly tail and pointy ears, contact me! :) Anyway, they took the two home and it turns out, they need to find a home for Juju, the little cocker, in about a month when they move. It’s not 100% certain whether or not they’ll have to give her up, but darn it… I really love her. I don’t think we’ll be able to take another dog, especially because we are moving… but if any of you out there think you may be interested in a 1 year old cocker who likes to cuddle, let me know! I want her to go to a good home!
This chaos also sparked the idea of coming up with a lost and found central database website. So, you can post your zip code, the dog’s coloring, weight and picture on one central website. If we could get this out there and well-known, it would be wonderful. I found myself calling vets, going to the vet to look for microchips, calling groomers… Cindy was calling shelters for me… it was quite the group effort… so, one single “bulletin board” would have been fabulous.
And so Meg won’t feel left out… because she has been helping me a lot in the garage…
So tired, and smell like dog… so gonna get some rest :)
p.s…. you heard it here first, there’s a 98% chance (I’m into percentages lately) that a nice lady who already owns a gift store will be taking the spot where Violets are Blue was so she can expand her business… once this is confirmed, I’ll announce it :) Yay, you’ll have a new place to shop! :)
We found our rental home in Cary, North Carolina! I’ve been stressing trying to find a place and finally, something came through… we will not be homeless come this April!
I’m in love with this kitchen! It’s so big… and has a huge pantry!! And the yard… it is perfect. Not pictured is our garden tub and other rooms with trey ceilings and tons of windows. So much granite, hard wood flooring and natural light… it’s so neat-o! And the area is chock-full of nature preserves, parks, new malls and shopping… OH, and a Trader Joe’s with ample
parking just went in a few miles north. Again, if you come out and visit make sure to contact me so I can show you around :) I’m already getting a guest book together for our guest room… I’m just going to assume we’ll need to schedule dates since so many friends want to come check it out ;)
I’m still recovering from the whirlwind craziness of getting the store closed up (And all the lifting… my back is certainly sore!)… after I’m organized and finally figure out when Easter is (And all the birthdays and events this month!), I’ll let you all know when the fun flea market/yard sale is!
Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments and emails :) I really do appreciate the time you have taken to say how much Violets are Blue has meant to you… I’m going to print and save those comments forever… in a scrapbook somewhere :) Thank you!!
Lastly, the website is down for now until we get settled, but I’ll keep everyone posted on the new things going into the store! Please check back… for updates and pictures from our new adventure!
Oh, and Happy Spring! Hasn’t it been just gorgeous so far :)?? What are those amazing pink trees everywhere that are in bloom?? I never claimed to have a green thumb!
If you missed our liquidation sale at the shop… have no fear! I’m going to have a garage sale sometime in March! :) I’ll have all sorts of stuff from the store AND things that I had hidden in my own private stash ;)
To be notified of the sale, and to get directions etc etc, leave a comment here (make sure to include your email address in the comment form, only I can see it) and I’ll shoot you an email when I figure out the dates :)
Have a happy Tuesday! :)
