My 8-year-old has 5 of them and is online at least twice weekly. Virtually every kid in her class has at least one or two (girls tend to have more than boys, but the boys have them too). It's basically beanie babies with a virtual community (a la Second Life) twist. I had a recent discussion with a local shopkeeper who is on the waiting list; we estimated he would get at least 25 more visitors daily via walk-in traffic if he stocked them.
