Giveaway #1!! :)

If you tell your friends and we get over 30 comments, I’ll add items #6-8! Item #6 A cupcake necklace!! A small chocolate and cherry cupcake with blue roses on a sterling silver chain. Glass bead made by our friend Cathi Milligan at Beadbrains and then it was assembled by yours truly ;)
Item #7 A group of little chicks in an egg cart by Midwest.
Item #8 A handmade bath gift set :) You get a bath bomb, glycerin soap, lotion and shower gel. I made everything but the fizzy.

Whoa!!!! 155 comments?!?! I never would have thought!!! Okay… to keep the momentum going… for every 50 more comments over 150, I’ll add something new… I still have to add a few new things because of the over 150 comments thing…. I’ll add those sometime today or tomorrow!! Keep the comments coming, this is so fun! :)

Okay guys… where have you been hiding all this time? ;) Here are the new items I have added for us reaching over 150 AND getting to 200!!

Item #9 A little Nicol Sayre Chick! She’s a cute little pink paper pulp chick rolled in glitter.
Item #10 A little Midwest chick ornament. He’s like the above little “peep” chick but smaller and wearing more of a top hat than a pointy hat!

I would have liked to add more of my handmade items, but I haven’t had time to make anything! eek! But we had so much fun with this giveaway that we are already planning future ones… there might be a scavenger hunt involved next time! Details to come soon :) What’s the next big holiday anyway? 4th of July? Ahhh heck, I think I’ll just do a “Happy Unbirthday” themed one and a “Why Not” themed one ;)

eeeek! I’m behind on that giveaway!

We had a strange yet exciting day today… let me go back… and try not to make this a novel :)

A few days ago my Volvo let me know that she wasn’t long for this world. “Bessie” is 15 years old, almost totalled while parked (I’m finding out this is more common than you think), doesn’t start when it’s over 90 degrees out and the odometer just broke. While backing up there were loud clunking noises followed by a jerk or thud. I knew it was time.

I never thought myself to be a minivan gal, but here I am. Ninety minutes into owning a minivan… the realization has set in that we are now SO far from cool, it hurts. And let me tell you, I was cool… hehe. Many many thanks to Nate… and Robert and Linda… they kept completely collected as I was trying hard to keep my foot out of my mouth and keep my palms dry ;) I’m not very bright while under pressure and trying to haggle.

You have my permission to point and laugh via comments… but only on this post, so have at it ;)

I’m Hosting a Giveaway!

Not quite yet… but check back in the next two days!!! I’m giving away a few things from the store… probably with an Easter or spring theme. I’ve never done one of these, so hopefully it will be snag free! I guess what happens is you comment, your name goes on a slip of paper and I pick those names at random and viola, you get some goodies :)

I thought I would share some of my cluster drawings today… hopefully it will give me some inspiration to actually pick up a paint brush :)

I see this one with muted tones with lots of pink and robin’s egg blue :) Then covered with glitter, of course!

Here’s my usual clustering of animal drawings… Just a few ideas…

These are my two favorite… that happy little chubby puppy and very 70’s looking owl. I think the owl wants to be embroidered.

And a few more doggies, a kitty and the back of a bunny…

Does anyone remember “Picture Pages“? :) This is only the intro but I remember sitting up on weekday mornings before kindergarten enjoying my Cookie Crip wishing I owned these picture pages so I could draw along with Bill Cosby. It still puts a smile on my face… perhaps I should watch this every morning and have a dixie cup full of grape juice before work… at the very least I would take everything less seriously ;)

The cutest dog picture ever!

I’m busy with Mr. Allen Wrench from Ikea, but I had to stop and share this picture that Nathan sent me from his cell phone:

Although the color isn’t that good, that face… it made me melt :)

Last week I was totally irritated and not somebody you would want to talk to during my end-of-the-year paper cleanup extravaganza. If you’ve been to the shop and squeezed into my office you know it is makeshift to say the least… if you turn around you might knock over the microwave. So I made a decision last night to go to Ikea and buy some pieces… a happy workspace makes for a happy worker? right? :)
Are the pieces I got exactly what I always wanted with little scrolly detail and a timeless design?? NO. Do they fit my little 5 foot by 7 foot cubby? YES. So, I finally have a proper little desk and places to put stuff so it doesn’t spill out onto the floor. But I do feel a little guilty for letting my OCD take over. That little voice that says “now now now” kept us up all night putting these things together. But now paying bills and filing paperwork will be new and exciting!

I’m hoping all the new shelving will help with the storage issue. Currently, when you are browsing on the floor you’ll see… jewelry, baby shoes, stationery, purses, cupcake art and two large boxes that say “Year End Vendor Folders 2003″ in thick black sharpie chicken scratches. I’ll just throw a doily over the stacked boxes and call them modern art end tables :)

Back to work…I’m still putting together “Robin” the tiny end table. We’ve already assembled “Goliat” and “Alve”. When it’s all put together I’ll post pictures but I can’t promise it will be inspiring or pretty… it will mostly look utilitarian and… well… I’ll just say “eclectic” ;)
