eeeek! I’m behind on that giveaway!
We had a strange yet exciting day today… let me go back… and try not to make this a novel :)
A few days ago my Volvo let me know that she wasn’t long for this world. “Bessie” is 15 years old, almost totalled while parked (I’m finding out this is more common than you think), doesn’t start when it’s over 90 degrees out and the odometer just broke. While backing up there were loud clunking noises followed by a jerk or thud. I knew it was time.
I never thought myself to be a minivan gal, but here I am. Ninety minutes into owning a minivan… the realization has set in that we are now SO far from cool, it hurts. And let me tell you, I was cool… hehe. Many many thanks to Nate… and Robert and Linda… they kept completely collected as I was trying hard to keep my foot out of my mouth and keep my palms dry ;) I’m not very bright while under pressure and trying to haggle.

You have my permission to point and laugh via comments… but only on this post, so have at it ;)
Spring-themed goodies will be up for grabs in the next day or so… I promise :) Please come back ;)

I love it! Don’t worry . . . you’re SUPER-COOL! You know what would be cute . . . get one of those magnetic signs for the side of the car (or just go ahead and paint) with the VAB logo on it! It would ‘officially’ become the Violets-Are-Blue-mobile . . . . like the Oscar Mayer hot dog car. Congrats!!!

Congrats on your new car..err..van! Lucky you, something new!I’m refusing to give up my old car until our younger daughter is out of college, too much cha-ching associated with her school!
Now, I’ll sit back and wait for your “giveaway”!

at least you having a minivan makes sense, with moving stuff around for the store :) and silver is purty! plus you can get one of those tvs installed and those make any car awesome.

I’ve been thinking about getting a min van too. I sick of trying to fit large flea market and thrift store purchases into a Camaro. I think it’s the “new cool”.

I recently had to give up my 1992 silver volvo wagon. She just got too $$ to fix. She was so cool.
I miss her terribly. We called her the “Silver Bullet”
I have never had a minivan. You cant go wrong with a Honda.

I agree!! I lurve my mini-van!! It lets me do so much more, and I am delighted people think I am uncool in my little Van-Go, because it gives me so much freedom. Basically, people don’t really look at you if you drive a Van. Which means I have been waved through to the best parking spots at concerts by mistake ( the attendant did not want to bother with me,woot!!, I can drive on the highway just a little over the speed limit and not worry about a ticket ( I have never been stopped, and I have been driving a van for 11 years. Yes, this COULD be because of good driving, but it is not I am sorry to say ), and my van is a moving house. It has helped me drive my family all over the country with no worries. We can sleep comfortably, store coolers, watch movies. My husband and I have even gone on “dates” in the garage. We make popcorn, climb into the backseat of the van, watch a movie and snuggle. The kids are old enough to enjoy their free time in the house, and know they can come get us in the garage if they need us. The van= a freedom you have never known before. Don’t believe what people say….they just have no clue what they are missing.
