Mother’s Day at Disneyland…
| Somehow, someway… we always seem to get at least 5 other people to aquire Disneyland Annual Passes. I’m not sure how this happens. Disney should buy us Dinner. So, getting the family out to the parks isn’t so hard, especially with wonderful tour guides such as ourselves ;) hehe! We started out at California Adventure (DCA) to grab fast passes for Soarin’ over California, only their best ride in the park. So, we had to kill time until then. This included lots of wandering and picture-taking. They have a mini-vineyard at DCA, including wine tasting and pretty good food. We happened to come in during their wine tasting/chef weekends or something. Lots of people stumbling around. |

Pam is my Mom’s good friend from Santa Barbara. They actually met there when they were 8 or so. Long story short, they’ve both moved all over the place but have managed to stay friends. How many friends can you say you’ve had for a lifetime? :) Pam is great… we’d love to have her around all the time! |

Pam was in my Mom’s wedding back in 1970-something. My Mom is the cute short one 2nd from the right and Pam is at the far left. You can’t see it, but the bridesmaids’ dresses are purple gingham. Even in the 70’s my Mom wasn’t doing the “normal” thing with the avacado and orange :) |
| Here’s my Mom wearing her favorite jacket made out of a vintage table cloth. We’d love to carry these at the shop but they’d have to retail for over $100!!! I need to learn how to sew… quickly :) |

In the afternoon, we headed over to Toontown for some drawing. We all sat down in front of Minnie’s house and started sketching. You can see my almost finished drawing at the bottom. I’m waiting for a scan of Babs’ and Pam’s drawings… that’s a hint if you two are reading! :) |

For some reason, this look is priceless to me. |
| We ended the night with a lovely dinner at Granville’s Steak House at the Disneyland Hotel. There’s nothing like a wonderful dinner and the perfect dessert. We all had steak, salads and shared these sweets… their creme Brulee with an orange spun-sugar spiral that held 3 cookies and then this 6 layer ice cream cake thing. It was divine! :) |

It’s great to see all of our drawings in a row… we were all looking at the exact same thing but had totally different ideas of what it looked like. None of us drew the polka dotted umbrella…. funny! I love all the color and textures! We all used watercolors and then layered different mediums on top after that. It was a very relaxing, cool, breezy afternoon. Just perfect!
That was our Mother’s day adventure! It was great! Hope yours was just how you wanted it to be!
Happy Mother’s day! :)

Wow – I love the different interpretations of Minnie’s House. Very fun — and would be interesting to analyze!
