chairs!
I’ve been working on displays around the shop and it seems we are lacking cool chairs. The only reupholstering I’ve ever done required scissors and a staple gun. I’m hoping for a more finished look. This will require someone who knows what they are doing and a few bucks on my part. I did find a chair similar to the one below in a lovely 70′s burnt orange. Eugh. Hopefully I can grab it and get it some professional help at a good price! This one is from the May issue of Domino Magazine (if you haven’t checked it out, you really should! It’s a great magazine!):

I also found these chairs at a local thrift shop… hard to see in this picture but they have a beautiful lattice work on the back of each chair…

I’m not sure if I want to go with the popular dark turquoise blue and brown or gray… or something more feminine and fun :) These chairs only require a staple gun so… phew! Only problem is, I didn’t purchase them yesterday because I wasn’t driving the van. So, I’m going to high tail it out of here in the morning and hope they are still there! Fingers crossed, especially since gas is almost $4.00 a gallon and the van gets 13 miles to the gallon! ouch!
My next post will be discussions of my new Mother’s day display (which is totally late!), how the chairs are coming and what colors I’m using, oh… and I want to start thinking about food to serve at our 3rd anniversary party coming up! yay! Cupcakes for sure! But we always have a ton of sugar, need something to round that out!
