fairy cakes…
Cupcakes have been invading all of my creations lately :)
I’ve been painting cupcakes, putting them in jewelry items, begging Cindy to make them to sell at the shop. They are everywhere and that’s a very good thing :)
I wanted to do a series of cupcake images so you can pick one or more to hang together on a wall, piece of furniture etc. I came up with the following four cupcakes so far…
The pink and red image will be getting 2 cherries (to go with the cherry blossoms) on the little napkin, the yellow and pink one with roses is far from done (white cake or lime green cup perhaps?), the hydrangea-surrounded cupcake will get something written on the middle ribbon… not sure yet. The last one… well… I need some inspiration on that one.I want to add a more primary-colored grouping with those fun little circus cookies we used to eat as kids. I also want to do a lemon yellow, white and green cupcake and perhaps more chocolate cupcakes. These would then be mounted onto wood, given little bits of that great glass glitter (which we may carry soon at the shop!) and little swarovski crystals to give the art even more sparkle. I’m a huge fan of more is better :) The images will them be hung with hand-dyed silk ribbon and other ribbons I have in my collection. I’m thinking 10″ x 12″ for the large and maybe 5″ x 7″ ish for the small?Also in the works, some other ideas for mother’s day (very last minute) and father’s day. Including tiki bbq images (it’s cuter than it sounds!) and fun kitschy kitchen images inspired by old cookbooks and magazine ads. I also want to do cute little fat bluebirds on various backgrounds, dogs and other assorted animals.More to come! :)
